Lyor Cohen was born on 3 October 1959, in Manhattan, New York City USA, to Jewish immigrants from Israel, and is an executive in the music industry, probably best known as the former CEO and chairman of recorded music for the Warner Music Group, and for his development of Def Jam Recordings. During Lyor’s career as a music industry executive now spanning more than 30 years, he has worked with such celebrities as Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, Jon Bon Jovi and many others.
