Joe Walsh was born on the 20th of November 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Robert Newton Fidler. His birth name is Joseph Fidler Walsh. He is of Mixed (British, Scottish, Germanic) ethnicity.

His father, lt. Robert was in the military as a flight instructor for the Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star. His mother is a trained classical pianist by profession.

In 1949, his father was killed in a plane crash in Okinawa. Later, he was adopted by his stepfather.

Joe Walsh spent a significant portion of his childhood in Columbus, Ohio. Later, he moved to New York City along with his father at the age of 12. Later, he moved to Montclair, New Jersey.

In the city, he completed his high school education at Montclair High School. During High School days, he used to play the Oboe for the school band. After that, he joined Kent State University.

James Gang & Barnstorm

– Joe Walsh started his musical journey at the age of 10 with a Guitar. Since then, she decided to pursue a career as a music artist.

-Later, he started playing the Bass inspired by the band, The Beatles. Moving forward, he joined the Nomads in Madison, New Jersey, and started his rock music career.

– During his University days, Joe Walsh formed the garage bar band, The Measles along with other three university friends. Along with the band, he released the two tracks; I Find I Think Of You and And It’s True. 

– In 1968, he joined the band, James Gang as the replacement of the guitarist, Glenn Schwartz.

-Along with the band members; Tom Kriss, and Jim Fox, they launched their debut studio album, Yer’ Album with 11 tracks. After that, the band released its albums; James Gang Rides Again (1970) and Thirds (1971). 

– In December 1971, Joe Walsh left the band, James Gang, and formed a new band, Barnstorm with the members; Kenny Passarelli (bassist and guitarist) and Joe Vitale (drummer). Along with the band, he launched their debut album, Barnstorm with 10 tracks.

– Later, in 1973, the band released its second studio album, The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get under the recording label, ABC-Dunhill.

-The album peaked at the 6th position on the Billboard chart. Also, it received Gold Certification in the US.

– After that, the band launched the song, Rocky Mountain Way which peaked at the 23rd position in the Billboard.

The Eagles & Solo Career

– In 1975, Joe Walsh joined the band, The Eagles as the replacement of the band’s founding member, Bernie Leadon.

– On the 8th of December 1976, the band released its’ 5th studio album, Hotel California. His first featured album for the band charted at the 1st position in the US billboard receiving a Grammy  Award as the Record of the Year as Best Arrangement for Voices.

– After that, the band released its next album, The Long Run along with him. The album’s singles Heartache Tonight, Title Track, and I Can’t Tell You Why became the top 10 singles of the year. Also, received considerable airplay. In 1980, the band broke up.

– Apart from his band career, Joe Walsh is popular for his solo albums too. To date, he has released 12 albums.

-That includes So What, You Can’t Argue with a Sick Mind, There Goes the Neighborhood, and You Bought It – You Name It.

– In 1993, the broken band, The Eagles reunited.  After that, he joined the band once more. Some of the albums along with the band include Common Thread: The Songs of the Eagles, Hell Freezes Over, The Very Best Of, and How Long. Currently, the band is planning for its next musical tour.
